Livestream

We are hosting worship virtually through a livestream at 10:30am on most Sundays. You can access recordings of the livestream below on this page and via a link on the home page that will be updated with every livestreamed service.

We hope you find this as a meaningful way to stay connected to God and with each other. Even when we can't gather in person, we continue work to find ways to praise God, follow in the way of Jesus, and build the beloved community.

The video below is a playlist of all the livestreamed services. Click the icon in the upper right corner of the video window to see the different videos in the playlist.

Services

 Taizé Service

Worship is modeled after the services held at the Taizé Community in France, home to a community of Catholic and Protestant Brothers. It is a worship experience wholly dedicated to prayer and to hearing God’s word, using chanted prayers and meditative singing, scripture, and silent meditation. Communion is served; there is no preaching.

About the music: All of the music was composed for and by the Taizé Community. Each song is sung several times to allow meditation on the words, so that each song may become a prayer. About the silence: Following the scripture readings there is a period of silent meditation lasting approximately seven minutes. The silence is a time to still your hearts and minds, letting the word of God touch you wherever you are.

Baptism

The United Church of Christ celebrates two sacraments, baptism and communion. Baptism is celebrated both for infants and for older believers who have not previously been baptized. This sacrament is included in the Sunday worship service, after conferring with the pastor. Many persons bring water for the baptism from a place that is meaningful to them.

Through water at baptism, God embraces you — no matter who you are — and brings you into Christ’s Church. You become vital not only to a local church, but the wider Church. You share in the life, death, and resurrection of Christ. The church also promises to love, support, and care for you throughout your whole life. Baptized, you now participate fully in life of the Church and God’s realm. More about baptism in the UCC »

Communion

The United Church of Christ celebrates two sacraments, baptism and communion. We practice “open” communion, inviting all people to share the cup and bread, regardless of denominational affiliation or age. Grape juice and gluten free crackers are used so that all may participate. Together, around God’s welcome table, we recall God’s loving acts, we experience our oneness in Christ, we hope for a time when all will be fed, and we anticipate the fullness of God’s love and justice throughout creation. Inclusive and expansive language

Inclusive and expansive language is used in our worship services. This is far more than an aesthetic matter of male and female imagery; it is a fundamental issue of social justice. Language that is truly inclusive affirms sexuality, racial and ethnic background, stages of maturity, and degrees of limiting conditions. More about inclusive and expansive language in the UCC »
