God is Revealed as We Gather

*Responsive Call to Worship         From UCC Access Sunday

We come to this service from near and far, from the north and the south, from the east and the west. Some come
down from the mountains, others across the flat plains, and also up or downstream.
We all come to manifest our connection to each other and to God!
We come to this celebration by walking on our feet,
rolling in a chair, riding a bike, driving a car,
being carried in another’s arms, or taking an Uber.
We come with our hearts and our minds, to benefit them both.
We come from homes of plenty and hostels of little, we come hearts full of joy and also of sadness;
But we are all here to learn of our God and to rejoice in God’s love. All of your children are welcome at this service and so, together as one people, let us worship God!

*Opening Hymn “This Little Light of Mine”   (#525)

Unison Prayer of Confession

God of a renewing and justice-filled Creation, we come to You this day as a broken people. We are divided by differences that we cling to as important—race, gender, sexuality, nationality, income, and ability. We now seek to become more aware of Your vision for humanity, one of mutual respect and joyful love. Guide us as we struggle to live following your example: to love each other and offer healing in this broken, beautiful world.
