Service Recording: August 16, 2020
After the service, we will have Fellowship Time in a Zoom video conference. Details for joining will be shared via email and at the end of the live stream.
The Building is Closed and the Church is Open
While we have restricted access to the building, Peace Church is very much open to ministry—working to respond to our own congregation, as well as the needs of our neighbors and community. Please consider giving either to Peace Church general fund or the Gabriel Fund – which is used to meet the needs in the community.
We recognize that in this time, people’s financial situations may have changed. We ask you to prayerfully consider what you can give. If you use electronic giving, we thank you for your constancy of support. If you would like to give through our online form, we would be grateful. For all the contributions from our members and friends—whether financial, time, or prayer—we ask God’s blessings on those gifts that Peace Church may be healing balm in this time when we are living in our own Gilead.

Responsive Call to Worship written by Gary Boelhower
Holy One, you are the light of the world.
May your light shine in us that we might banish the darkness of injustice—the systems of inhumanity and oppression.
Holy One, you are compassion and mercy.
May your compassion live in us that we might deeply listen to our sisters and brothers and reach out to them with understanding and empathy.
Holy One, you are generosity and abundance.
May your generosity rule our lives that we might act from an attitude of abundance and gratitude, rather than scarcity and fear.
Opening Hymn “All Things Bright and Beautiful” (#31)
Unison Prayer of Confession
O Holy One, you call us to create the kin-dom of compassion and justice, not in some distant time beyond death, but right now in our everyday reality where you are with us. Too often we act with an attitude of scarcity, rather than recognize the abundance that is always possible in community.
Too often we react to others who are different than us with fear and judgment, rather than recognize we are all sisters and brothers of one human family. Fill us with your light that we might see this world as your kin-dom in the process of being created, your community of love being formed among us.
