Service Recording: April 11, 2021
After the service, we will have Adult Forum in a Zoom video conference. Details for joining will be shared via email and at the end of the live stream.
The Building is Closed and the Church is Open
While we have restricted access to the building, Peace Church is very much open to ministry—working to respond to our own congregation, as well as the needs of our neighbors and community. Please consider giving either to Peace Church general fund or the Gabriel Fund – which is used to meet the needs in the community.
We recognize that in this time, people’s financial situations may have changed. We ask you to prayerfully consider what you can give. If you use electronic giving, we thank you for your constancy of support. If you would like to give through our online form, we would be grateful. For all the contributions from our members and friends—whether financial, time, or prayer—we ask God’s blessings on those gifts that Peace Church may be healing balm in this time when we are living in our own Gilead.

*Responsive Call to Worship
The Risen Christ has come to us this morning:
so we can be filled with the sacred breath of peace.
The Risen Christ stands before us this morning:
so we can touch his wounds and find healing.
The Risen Christ sends us this morning:
so we can enter into life that is truly life.
Opening Hymn “Morning has Broken” (#11 P&W Songbook)
Unison Prayer of Confession
Loving God, we confess that at times we cannot see or feel the peace that you offer right in front of us. We close doors when we are fearful, and we do not want to follow where you would lead us, down the path of vulnerable love and transformation. We are afraid to touch your wounds and afraid to acknowledge the pain of our own wounds, at times doubting that we can experience the new life and healing we need. Forgive us when we deny our own possibilities and help us to trust the possibilities that your love can open through new life. Amen.

Sharing Our Prayer Concerns, Silent Prayer, Pastoral Prayer by Nathan Holst, Prayer of Our Savior by Rev. David Bard (#6 in P&W Songbook)
Loving God, Sacred One,
blessed be your name.
May your kingdom come, your dream arrive,
your purpose prevail,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today your daily bread.
Forgive us the wrong we have done,
as we forgive those who have wronged us.
Help us steer clear of temptation,
and protect us from evil.
We trust you in this,
for the kingdom, its power, and its beauty
are yours forever.
