God is Revealed as We Gather

*Responsive Call to Worship   adapted from Rev. Thom Shuman

When our pockets are empty, God allows us to purchase what we need, charging it to grace’s account.
God thinks differently than we do.
When our souls are parched, God hands us a glass of living water.
God’s ways are different from ours.
When we grow weary of searching, God leads us home.
God’s love is different from ours.

*Opening Hymn   “Come, O Fount of Every Blessing”   (#459)

Unison Prayer of Confession

We thirst for the water of the world, O God, until our parched souls murmur against one another. Fountain of life, soothe our spirits. Let us draw water from your well of love, that we shall never again have to drink from the shallow wells of indifference, whose waters are bitter.   Amen
