God is Revealed as We Gather
*Responsive Call to Worship adapted from Thom Shuman
From a cloud, and in a crowd, God speaks to us.
Calling us to be lovers of justice, to share hope with
the broken.
On mountaintops, and in neighborhoods, Jesus calls to us.
With a word, and with wonder, molding us into who we are.
On the playground, and at work, the Spirit whispers in our hearts.
Gathering up our fears, as well as our dreams, sending us back out into the world.
*Opening Hymn “Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise” (#1)
Unison Prayer of Confession
We admit that we are often afraid to come near you, Glorious Creator. For if we do, you might see how our faces darken with anger as we speak hurtful words, or whiten with fear of those who are different, or redden from the depths of our desires.
And yet you seek us out and you reveal the mystery of your mercy and grace. As you bend down to listen to us, may we then speak your love to all those around us. As you call us into your presence, may we find the peace we seek and be empowered to go back into this world you so love.

Celebrating Communion Together
Our vision is to be an accessible, open and affirming community growing in Christian faith, committed to peace and justice, and reaching out in healing love to all of creation, including all people, respecting and valuing the diversity of people’s sexual orientation, race, culture, gender identity, age, opinions, and physical and mental abilities.
