God is Revealed as We Gather

*Responsive Call to Worship

Today God gathers us in to remind us who we are:
We are children of God who live the way of love
in all we do.
Come all and find rest in the still waters of this place.
See, there is life beyond the ways of death:
We open our hearts to feel the wonder of God’s dream
being born again in each of us.

*Opening Hymn    “Mothering God”   (#467)

Unison Prayer of Confession

Source of life, we confess that despite our best efforts to be a loving, nurturing, and affirming people, we often fail to love each other into our full humanity.
We feel helpless in the face of oppression, of messages of shame or self hatred that make their way into our hearts. Help us forgive ourselves when our best does not seem enough, and guide us toward collective healing through your persistent love. Amen.
