Choral Call to Worship “Alleluia”
*Responsive Call to Worship
Where shattered hearts are made whole,
where wounded souls are healed,
where life is stronger than death:
There, the stone has been rolled away.
Where the lonely become our friends,
where a stranger is welcomed home,
where hope is stronger than despair:
There, we find Jesus walking.
Where closed doors are opened,
where the anxious find peace,
where love is stronger than hate:
There, Jesus is opening our eyes.
The stone has been rolled away!
Jesus is our companion on the journey.
Our hearts and minds are opened.
Alleluia! Christ is risen! Alleluia! Christ is with us!
*Opening Hymn “Christ the Lord is Risen Today” (#233 in hymnal)
Unison Prayer of Confession
Loving God, we confess that we often live as if buried by fear, by indifference, by bad habits. We are not sure that life will triumph over the ways of death. Forgive us, Lord, for our hesitance to live the resurrection life. Forgive us for the fear that holds us back from answering your call. Forgive us for our failure to live in a way that shares the good news of new life. Draw us close. Open our hearts to the love and faithfulness made known on the cross. Open our minds to the strength and glory made known in that empty tomb. Open our lives to the work of your Spirit, and teach us to embrace the good news. Amen.

*Unison Prayer of Dedication
God of life, in raising Jesus from the dead, you triumphed over the power of the grave and opened the way to your kingdom of life. You have called us to bear witness to your good news. Let the gifts we dedicate, and the lives we lead, proclaim the glory of the risen Christ, in whose name we pray. Alleluia! Amen.
