Sunday, November 3: Remembering the Saints
Scripture: Scripture: 2 Thessalonians 1: 1 -4, 11- 12 and Luke 19: 1-10
Today we will remember all those of our congregation and others who have died this past year.
Sermon: “Saints from A – Z”
We will have a stewardship mission moment by Sara Dean and celebrate the baptism of Alex Sorenson. We will also celebrate communion at both services and there will be special music by the Peace band.
9:30 Adult Forum: Lyz Jaakola: Water Walkers Lyz is a water walker; she will share more about her experience with “Nibi” (Ojibwe word for water) Walks, bringing attention to our need to love, thank, and respect our water, and to acknowledge our spiritual relationship with water. Lyz is also a musician and educator, and an enrolled member of the Fond du Lac band of Lake Superior Ojibwe in Cloquet. She teaches music education and American Indian studies at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College and performs and composes in many styles and genres.
Sunday, November 10: Stewardship Sunday
Scripture: Psalm 145, 2 Thessalonians 2: 1-5, 13- 17 and Luke 20: 27-38
Sermon: “Hold On to Faith”
Kelly Grgas and Charla Buxbaum Grgas will have a stewardship mission moment and we will also dedicate our financial pledges for 2020. After our 10:30 service we will celebrate with a free lunch of ham and cheesy potatoes for all. Special music provided by Adam Sippola and Wendy Durrwatcher.
9:30 Adult Forum: JT Haines & John Doberstein: Duluth for Clean Water JT Haines and John Doberstein, both Peace Church members, are a part of the local organization Duluth for Clean Water. JT has been a lead organizer and communications manager with Duluth for Clean Water, which he co-founded in 2016 to help give voice to the concerns of downstream citizens about the PolyMet mine. John has been an organizer, spokesperson, and board member for Duluth for Clean Water. They will share about their experience with the organization and the work around proposed copper mining.

9:30 Adult Forum: Brett Cease – Citizen’s Climate Lobby Brett Cease has been volunteering with Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL) since 2011. Brett now serves on staff at CCL as the Volunteer Education and Engagement Coordinator where he strives to develop learning pathways that create the most empowered and informed citizen lobbyists possible. Brett began his career in northern Minnesota as a wilderness program director and lead instructor for several outdoor education nonprofits including Outward Bound. Brett will share about his work with Citizens’ Climate Lobby, and their work with the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act.
