Please note: A resolution of consent to allow refugee resettlement within St. Louis County will be considered by the County Commissioners when they meet Tuesday, January 7, 9:30 a.m. in the Boardroom on the 2nd floor of the Duluth County Courthouse. According to a recent Executive Order, refugees will be resettled only in locales where local authorities have submitted written statements of consent.  Refugees eligible for resettlement have been thoroughly vetted and receive their refugee status before entry to the United States.  Refugees are resettled with assistance from social service agencies such as Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services and Church World Service and are encouraged to become self-sufficient as soon as possible.
