View the Foy Scholarship Awards Ceremony HERE.

It was held on Saturday August 8 and livestreamed from Peace Church. This past March marked the 16th anniversary of the death of Rev. Arthur Foy III in a tragic car accident. In an effort to continue the important work he did here in the city of Duluth when he served as pastor of St. Mark AME church, a scholarship fund was established in his name. Each year at least one student of color from our community is awarded a $1,000 scholarship to continue their education at a post-high school institution. Rev. Foy saw education as a crucial step out of poverty and worked hard to make it more accessible for all kids. Three scholarships will be awarded this year. The scholarships will be given to Lencie Westrick, Daniel Guite, and Jadan Jones. The award ceremony/musical celebration will take place on Saturday, August 8, 1 p.m. at Peace Church. The ceremony will be livestreamed from peaceucc.org.
