Teams

Teams are the bedrock of how our beloved community functions. Most members of our teams find that in addition to serving the congregation, joining a team is a great way of deepening relationships and feeling connected to the life of the church. Church membership is not required to serve on these teams. For more information on joining one of these teams, please contact the church office at office@peaceucc.org or 218.724.3637.

Spiritual Life Ministry

Food and Fellowship Team
This team meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 6:00 pm, They enjoy planning and coordinating food for events, such as the annual summer potluck picnic, the stewardship dinner, our March potluck dinner, the spring confirmation breakfast, and refreshments for the January Artists Cabaret.

Worship and Arts Team
Our worship and arts team works with our music director and ministers to create the worship services. Using the lectionary readings and liturgical calendar they develop the themes and various services for our life together. This includes picking hymns, checking in about what is working and what isn’t in worship and making sure youth and children are included in our experiences.

Shared Ministry Team
The shared ministry team meets to focus on the ways people in our congregation are feeling a sense of connection and belonging. Our purpose and hope is to receive all who come through our doors as welcomed guests, to provide a path for finding connection and means for sharing unique gifts.

Technology Team
This team meets as needed to look at the technology issues and needs of our congregation. This includes the purchasing and maintenance of computers and software systems, projectors and the sound systems.

Christian Education Ministry

Children’s Ministry Team
This amazing group of leaders gathers monthly to plan all the events and programs benefiting our children. The team selects the Sunday School curriculum and organizes many events including Rally Sunday, Fall Fest, the children’s Christmas pageant, Advent Family Fun day, the Easter Egg Hunt, the Graduation breakfast, and Vacation Bible School.

Youth Ministry Team
Made up of youth and adults from the congregation, the youth ministry team is the group that reflections on both the youth programming at Peace and also comes up with ideas to help nurture our youth in their spiritual development.

Adult Education Team
The adult education team meets monthly to plan and coordinate our Sunday morning adult forums. They look at overarching themes and bring in topics and speakers that inspire and educate our congregation. They also look at the overall adult educational programming such as bible studies, book groups, retreats and centering prayer gatherings.

Historical Team
This dedicated group meets monthly from 10:00 am-12 noon on the second Wednesday of each month. We have a dedicated Heritage Room for our church archives. The team spends time organizing and indexing records, photos, and newspaper clippings pertaining to our history, and often has requests to search our records for people working on family histories.

Library Team
Volunteers are always welcome to assist our church librarian with covering books, adding cards and pockets, shelving books, and maintaining our bookshelves. Training provided–you may work on Wednesdays when our librarian is here, or do tasks at times that are convenient to you. The team of volunteers may also meet as needed.

Health and Healing Group
In the spirit of renewal, Peace Church is re-vitalizing the Health and Healing Group. The purpose of this committee is:  To enhance our faith and spirituality through developing deeper appreciation for our bodies and the Earth. We plan to offer continuous sessions at Peace in the areas of mental and  physical health, always with an emphasis on the spiritual connection to our health, earth and healing. The first offering is a Lenten Pilgrimage which is meeting each Wednesday during Lent at 5:00pm.  Stay tuned for ways to be involved!

Christian Stewardship/Property Ministry

Property Team
The Property Team’s mission is to build, maintain, and preserve the church and property. They meet on the second Wednesday of the month at 6:00 pm, and often include hands on projects as part of their meetings. It is an awesome team of people who use their skills to keep our building in great shape to serve our congregation and the community.

Stewardship Team
This team meets monthly year round to explore ways to encourage generosity to our Peace Church congregation as well as our wider community. This team also coordinates the annual stewardship drive. We often hear the stories of our members during stewardship mission moments at our worship services, and we always celebrate the kick-off and the completion of our stewardship campaign by sharing a meal together!

Justice Teams

The Peace Church community has a vital commitment to working for justice. There are various teams working in a number of different areas, and these teams work together so that there is more collaboration in our efforts.
