God is Revealed as We Gather
*Responsive Call to Worship
When we look up at the night sky speckled with stars and a full moon,
we discover the never-ending imagination of our God.
When we pick those people not chosen on life’s playgrounds,
we rise up with Jesus in his ministry of healing and hope.
When we set aside the time for prayer, as well as wonder,
we meet the Spirit who is with us in every moment and each breath we take.
*Opening Hymn “Breathe on Me, Breath of God” (#292)
Unison Prayer of Confession
Most merciful God, we have sinned against you in thought, word and deed, by what we have done and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart. We have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. Have mercy on us. Forgive us, renew us and lead us, so that we may delight in your will and follow in your way. Amen.
Assurance of God’s Love
*indicates “please stand” (if you are able)
