Choral Call to Worship “Be Thou My Vision”
*Responsive Call to Worship adapted from Sheri Brown
God is our mighty fortress, always ready to help,
So we will not fear …
not even when on the cliff-edge of doom,
not even in the rush and roar of storms,
not even when our world falls apart. Not then. Not ever!
So greet the morning with joy –
God’s heart yearns to make glad this new day.
Treat the world with kindness.
God’s spirit yearns for safe homes and peace in the nations.
God says, “Peace, Be Still”.
God is our Rock, our refuge, and our strength.
Let us worship God Together.
*Opening Hymn “A Mighty Fortress is Our God” (#439)
Responsive Prayer of Confession
Let us come to the fortress that is our God and confess
that we hide behind walls of politics and religion that divide peoples.
We are blind and deaf to the harm we do.
Lord, have mercy, and give us eyes to see and ears to hear.
