God is Revealed as We Gather
*Responsive Call to Worship
You call us, God, and we open our hearts.
When we listen to each other, we hear your voice.
You call us, Spirit, and we open our lives.
When we act with kindness, we see your face.
You call us, Jesus, and we live in your Way.
When we bring love into struggle,
we experience your beloved community.
*Opening Hymn “In the Midst of New Dimensions” (#391)
Responsive Prayer of Confession
Holy One, too often we narrow our vision and cannot see where you are leading us. We are blinded by the need to be right, and fail to listen to each other. We lose the vision of the beloved community and forget what it means to be the body of Christ.
Great Connector who can hold all our tensions, pour into us your love, that we might learn to live with justice and humility; help us give ourselves to the work of an ever widening community of love. Amen.
