*Responsive Call to Worship (from Isaiah 52:7–10)
How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news:
who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation,
who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!”
Like those who stand watch, we lift up our voices and rejoice with shouts for joy!
Let us burst into songs of praise together, for the Lord has comforted us.
The Lord is our redeemer. May all the ends of the earth see the salvation of our God! Let us worship the Lord
our God together!
*Opening Hymn “From All That Dwell Below the Skies” (#27)
Unison Prayer of Confession
Gracious and faithful God, we’re thankful for the goodness and sacredness of life, and for the many gifts you’ve given us. But we confess that your call to discipleship makes us uneasy, and we turn aside to our own ways. We often neglect to nurture the gifts you’ve given us for faith and service to one another and to the world around us.
Forgive us, O God. Heal our spirits that are sometimes timid, sometimes self-absorbed. Quiet us with your presence, so we can listen for your Word among us.
And may we truly be strengthened and encouraged in our faith. In Christ’s name we pray. Amen
