God is Revealed as We Gather
*Responsive Call to Worship by Gary Boelhower
Come, People of God, let us gather in prayer to nurture and sustain the beloved community.
With songs and petitions, gratitude and praise, we share in this worship to strengthen our bonds of love with each other and to give us food for the journey.
Come, People of God, let us take upon ourselves the work that God has given us to do.
With confidence in God’s promises and the power of the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to the work of giving glory to God by our thoughts, words and actions.
Come, People of God, do not be frozen by fear but trust in God’s call.
With faith in God and the support of each other, we take up the challenge of living out Christ’s message in our homes, workplaces, local community, and our global village.
*Opening Hymn: “Joyful, Joyful, We Adore You” (#4 black hymnal)
Unison Prayer of Confession
Jesus, you have entrusted your message to us and appointed us to be your word spoken in kindness, your hands outstretched in help, your feet that travel to visit the lonely, sick and imprisoned. Often we are caught in complacency or distracted from your work. We become too busy or too focused on the goods of the world. Forgive us for our lack of resolve and fill us with your spirit that we may be renewed in our vocations. Light our hearts with the fire of your love that we may be faithful to the work that you have called us to do.

Celebrating Our Graduating Seniors – Presentation of Blankets
Unison Prayer: Children of God, you are wrapped in loving arms of family and friends. May these blankets that represent the continued love and support from your homes and this congregation remind you of God’s love, which surrounds you now and in all the days to come. Blessings to each of you at this landmark in your lives; may God warm, comfort, and protect you on your journey ahead.
