God is Revealed as We Gather
*Responsive Call to Worship adapted from Thom Shuman
We come, because we seek our God.
Every morning, every day, every evening, every moment, God is with us.
We come, because we hunger for hope.
Jesus calls us to new ways of being that will replace our emptiness with grace.
We come, because we thirst for the Spirit:
who fills our yearning for peace, who ends the drought of justice.
*Opening Hymn “Come, O Fount of Every Blessing” (#459)
Unison Prayer of Confession
We thirst for the water of the world, O God, until our parched souls murmur against one another. Fountain of life, soothe our spirits. Let us draw water from your well of love, that we shall never again have to drink from the shallow wells of indifference, whose waters are bitter. Amen
