God is Revealed as We Gather
*Responsive Call to Worship
With all your strength, sing with God, who has brought you here and blessed you.
Our voices shall shout forth praise and thanksgiving to God.
With all your heart, reach out in service to those in need, remembering God’s mercy in your own life.
Our lives shall be witnesses to the love of God, which has been lavished upon us.
Come, let us worship God with great joy!
Let us bring all that we are to God in gratitude.
*Opening Hymn “Come, O Fount of Every Blessing” (#459)
Unison Prayer of Confession by Thom Shuman
We are always uncomfortable, Watching God, when you notice how we want to sit in the seats of honor. We can be so proper, so good, so well-off, that it is easy to imagine we are superior to others. We are so busy completing our ‘To Do’ list each day that we forget
to do good when we have the chance.
Forgive us, Welcoming God. Fill our emptiness with your grace. Help us to join you in throwing a party of peace, inviting all to your table of love. Amen.
