*Responsive Call to Worship written by Gary Boelhower
With the power of his full presence, Jesus comes to us.
Let us rejoice and be glad that he is risen and with us.
With the assurance of peace beyond all understanding,
Jesus comes to us.
Let us rejoice and dedicate ourselves to peace in our families, our community, and in our one human family.
With the call to discipleship, Jesus comes to us.
Let us rejoice and speak his message of abundant love and lavish forgiveness in our world.
*Opening Hymn “My Faith Looks Up to Thee”

Unison Prayer of Confession written by Gary Boelhower
O Holy One, we are afraid. We have locked the doors again. We are hiding in the room of our own fear, our own complacency, our own story of not being enough. Break into our lives again with your peaceful presence. Show us again that death is not the end of the story and hate does not win. Speak into our lives again your challenging word, “As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” When we are tempted to despair, give us courage to be your loving presence. When we are tempted to go numb in the face of so much pain and brokenness, bless us with your spirit of invincible hope. When we are tempted to hide away in our fears, call us into the world to announce your new life. Show us the way to build community, to renew the bonds of affection, and to bind up the wounds of injustice. Amen.
