God is Revealed as We Gather
*Responsive Call to Worship
Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice;
At your word the air was filled with wings and the seas made to teem with life.
Let the field exult, and everything in it.
At your word humans were placed onto the earth to live and care for the richness of all creation.
Let us sing for joy before the Lord!
Let our songs become words of wisdom and balance, to bring us into right relationship with the earth.
*Opening Hymn “Morning Has Broken” (#11 P&W songbook)
Unison Prayer of Confession
As stewards of creation we savor our connections to nature, spoken and unspoken, above and below us, around and within us. But too often we carelessly disrupt those connections and feel apart from nature. It is then we need renewal, grounding, and direction. Creator God, fill us with your mercy and guide us with your light so we may see clearly our challenges and recommit to our task of caring for the earth.
