God is Revealed as We Gather
*Responsive Call to Worship based on Jeremiah 31:7–9
Sing aloud with gladness:
God is gathering the people!
From the farthest parts of the earth we come:
All who struggle, all who labor with new life!
Those who are weeping, God will console:
Those who get lost find a clear path home.
Let us worship the God who gathers us!
*Opening Hymn “Be Now My Vision” (#451)
Unison Prayer of Confession adapted from Thom Shuman
Gracious and Holy God, we admit that it is easier to have harsh words
on our lips, than praise for another. We are too often blind to the deep hurts of people around us. We stand by the side of the road, afraid to step forward in faith, afraid to trust that you are with us always.
We ask that you forgive our faithlessness, our fears and our hurts.
Healer of all people, we lift our hearts and souls to you, that through Jesus Christ, we might see your grace and know your healing. Amen.
