Sundays April 2 & April 9 – 9:30am Fireside Room – Bible Study “Manna and Mercy” with Nathan Holst – There’s still time to join the last two sessions! We’re looking at Dan Erlander’s book “Manna and Mercy”, a 100-page hand-printed paraphrase of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation—a graphic novel of sorts, written with imagination, clarity, humor, and cartoons. Built around the twin themes of food sharing and forgiveness, it helps us to look at scripture with new eyes and rediscover how it can become a means of life and grace rather than destruction and death. We have copies available in the office. Please contact Nathan if you have any questions, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Sunday April 23—Standing Rock Series Begins – As a way for our congregation to follow through on our commitment to engage in conversation about Standing Rock, local Indigenous leader Babette Sandman will speak on historical trauma and blood memory, how memories of experiences stay with us in our bodies across generations, and how that relates to Standing Rock. This talk will start a series of adult forums connecting history, Native and non-Native relationships, water, and our relationship to fossil fuels—all connected to what happened at Standing Rock. Come join us for this first talk on April 23rd at 9:30am.
Sunday April 30—Shared Ministry Fair – Join us in the Fireside Room for coffee and snacks while visiting with folks from our many Peace Church ministries who will have table displays in the narthex .
