September 10 – The importance of listening to others and telling our own stories, led by Carl Crawford and Marilyn Maryry.
September 17 – Our immigration stories led by Doug Bowen-Bailey and Kevin Skwira-Brown of our Dismantling Racism Team.
There will be a second forum this Sunday in the Conference Room: “Help and Healing on the Spiritual Path – Duluth Bruno Groening Circle of Friends.” Heidi Labore Smith and Joan Hatlestad will present & respond to questions about spiritual healing and give information on an upcoming free medical lecture on “Help & Healing on the Spiritual Path” at Clyde Iron Works on October 2, presenting medically verified spiritual healing from many diseases, from cancer to addictions. See more info on page 16.
September 24 – The Peace Church immigration story led by our History Committee.
October 1 – the Doctrine of Discovery at 9:30am, and after the 10:30 service we’ll offer the Blanket Exercise with lunch first. We’ll eat at 11:30 and then hold the Blanket Exercise, which is a moving and interactive dramatization of white settlement on indigenous land here in the U.S. It takes about an hour and a half and includes a talking circle at the end.
Get out your calendars and get ready for a great series of adult forums, events, and films in the coming months sponsored by the Dismantling Racism Team. Later we will be screening the documentary “The Secrets of Being Black in Duluth”, so look for dates on that soon.
