Peace Church Garden
Take a look at our garden at the far end of our lower parking lot—it’s well on the way to providing lots of fresh veggies for the CHUM Food Shelf! We are partnering with Growing for a Cause to receive free seeds and transplants. Last year we grew and donated almost 300 pounds of vegetables! Thanks to all who helped!
Volunteers are always welcome to help out! We are fortunate to have a Master Gardener Intern, Laurie Linder, who has spent many hours planting and weeding and mulching, especially while Sarah Nelson has been on vacation. Laurie is a lifetime member of Peace Church (daughter of Peggy Pearson). She would love to teach anyone who would like to learn more about gardening—just give her a call or email to set up a time to meet her in the garden.(525-5991, or email@example.com ). Also, if you’d like to work along with her sometime she would love help—Thursdays and Fridays are the best days for her. Let her know when you can help and she’ll be there. You can also contact Sarah Nelson for more info—firstname.lastname@example.org. Gardening at the Peace Church garden is a great way to meet other gardeners, get a little exercise and help our neighbors in need. Feel free to stop by and water dry plants or pull some weeds anytime!
