Pathways to Peace
There will be new Pathways to Peace events in the fall of 2016 focusing on Sacred Journeys.
Pathways to Peace is an invitation to explore the spiritual dimensions of our lives and to embody the transformative power of faith. Through conversations, worship, workshops, contemplative practices, art, story, and music, Pathways to Peace offers opportunities to question, to explore, to grow, and to channel spirituality into action. The goal of Pathways to Peace is to nourish the mind, body, and soul as we work to create and live in a community that is aware, welcoming, and radically loving.
Pathways to Peace is also a resource guide highlighting both special events and ongoing activities at Peace Church and in the surrounding community.
During the winter of 2015-2016, Pathways to Peace focused on Sacred Landscapes, reflecting on the holy spaces within and around us. In our search for grounding, for community, for home we travel on sacred ground. We are shaped by place, and by the stories of those who share this common ground.
- What is the history of the land we live on?
- How do the stories of those who live here shape this place?
- How does place shape us?
- What is our responsibility to this sacred ground?
We explored these questions in a variety of ways: adult forums on the history of parks in Duluth and writing about place; learning about the Sami and sacred landscapes; a workshop on landscape quilting; learning about the joy of backyard chickens; a writing workshop on poetry of the spirit; an evening of place-based music; hearing stories of Native sacred places; dancing on holy ground.
We invite you to join in the journey. For further information, call Peace Church (218-724-3637), or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
