Lenten Vespers – Prayers Around the Cross
7:00pm every Wednesday – March 8 – April 12, 2017
Join us in the sanctuary each Wednesday during Lent for this meditative worship, which includes quiet singing, silence, prayer and the lighting of candles. Take time each week for worship as we journey toward Easter. This service will begin on March 8 and continue each Wednesday until Easter.
Bible Study – “Manna and Mercy” with Nathan Holst
Are you someone who is interested in learning more about the Bible, but find it difficult to get into parts of it or seeing themes in the larger story? Then this study during lent is for you! We’ll look at Dan Erlander’s book “Manna and Mercy”. Manna and Mercy is a 100-page hand-printed paraphrase of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation—a graphic novel of sorts, written with imagination, clarity, humor, and cartoons. Built around the twin themes of food sharing and forgiveness, it helps us to look at scripture with new eyes and rediscover how it can become a means of life and grace rather than destruction and death. We’ll meet on Sunday mornings in between services from 9:30-10:30 for six sessions (March 5, 12, 19, 26 and April 2 and 9). We’ll have copies available in the office in late February. Please contact Nathan if you have any questions at email@example.com.
