January 1st: “NO YOUTH GROUP” HAPPY NEW YEAR! Enjoy the break; we’ll see you next week!
January 8th: Jesus the Peace Hero – The story begins… When Matthew looked back at Jesus’ birth, the writer sees a hero’s story to tell. We will begin reading the first four chapters of our sacred adventure story to learn how Jesus became not just a hero, but our hero who brought peace. And we will close with a send-off for Mark!
January 15th: Jesus had a family tree and a birth story. So do you. We will ask volunteers to join us so youth can work in small groups to fill in some of the slots on their family trees and to share their birth stories. What is the story your parents tell you about the day you were born? (We will need 2 or 3 adult or parent volunteers for this activity. If you can help out, please contact Jackie, Mark, or the Church Office.)
January 22th: Before Jesus set off on his ministry, he was given a wilderness experience to prepare him. We too will do some preparation for our ministries, not in the form of “Outward Bound” treks, (No, plan for the camping trip next August for that opportunity.) but in the form of learning some strategies for having caring conversations with friends. (We will need 2 or 3 adult or parent volunteers for this activity. If you can help out, please contact Jackie, Mark, or the Church Office.)
January 29th: We will open by welcoming Mark back, if his plane’s not late. Jesus did not work alone! Neither do we. We will read about the team that Jesus gathered around him and do challenging and fun activities both to be a team and to lead a team.
