The following efforts represent the spokes of the wheel that are tied into the core of our values as a Christian community as well connecting us to efforts in healing and repairing God’s world.
A long-term endeavor of the congregation to address the legacy of racism both within the community and our congregation.
The Food, Energy and Environment Team focuses on the ways that we as a congregation can contribute to dealing with climate change by reducing our own carbon emissions and supporting broader efforts to care for God’s creation.
Peace United Church of Christ has developed a number of partnerships with other faith communities around the globe including in the Philippines and East Timor. This team focuses on maintaining these partnerships as well as helping the congregation appreciate the value of these relationships in our life as a faith community.
Open and Affirming
The Open and Affirming team strives to lift up the gifts of our Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgendered members and friends and work to make the congregation and the community a place that is accepting of all people.
As a Just Peace congregation, Peace Church works to tie our commitment to creating a peaceful world with our understanding that justice must be the foundation of our relationships with others.
