Peace Church offers many opportunities for worship, education, and small group activities, for getting to know each other, which may be of special interest to adults. This page is designed to introduce you to those opportunities and to welcome your participation
Adult Forum Each Sunday during the education hour, 9:30 to 10:30, we have an Adult Forum. All adults are welcome. Come any or every Sunday. Many people must arrive late or leave early so stop in as you can. This can be a very informal way to get to know people and I know we can look forward to some very thought-provoking sessions.

Pastor Kathy generally co-facilitates with a Church member. Sometimes there are special guests that address topics of interest.

There is a wonderful array of people at Adult Forum. Some are very knowledgeable about the Christian faith and offer a treasury of information. Some come with little background and ask the questions we are probably all thinking, but are afraid to ask. Some are of strong faith and some are wondering if they have any faith at all. Some have been at Peace Church since the dawn of time and some have just walked in the door for the first time.

Try it out. The coffee is always on. Come and join us!

Upcoming Adult Forums:

Topic Study - Fireside Room

“Bring Many Names”
Join in a discussion in the power of naming. What are the names you use for God? What would it mean to expand your images of the divine? A chance to talk about images of God and how we might work together to expand these images and the language used in prayer, worship and daily life. The conversation will be facilitated by Sally Larson, Gary Anderson and Pastor Kathy

Sunday, May 11th and 18th
“Framework for Understanding Poverty”

On May 11th and 18th, Charley Kendall will be leading the adult forums with a discussion from Ruby Payne’s works on poverty: Framework for Understanding Poverty and Bridges Out of Poverty. He will review the framework laid out in these books and draw on his years of experience as a physician working with people from poverty to talk about how learning these concepts has really helped him better understand the lives and needs of his patients.

The first book, “Framework”, was written for educators, and the concepts in that book were expanded in “Bridges” to be helpful to anyone who works with people from poverty. Both books contain the same concepts relating to understanding poverty. Copies of both books will available in the church office in May if you would like to borrow one.
