Junior/ Senior High Youth Group
(Meets Year Round)

6th-12th graders
Wednesdays (unless otherwise noted)
7:00 - 8:30 pm in the Youth Room

Join us each Wednesday to experience church, community, world, and fun in PCYG style. Oh, and bring a friend! Remember, we meet on Wednesdays from 7:00 to 8:30pm (with a few exceptions, noted below).  ~ Paul

February 1: Pool Party! (Note, Early Meeting Time: 6:30)

Country Inn and Suites in Hermantown has kindly granted us use of their swimming pool for the evening! PCYG will meet at 6:30pm, and carpool for a pool party! (note: bring your swimsuit and towel—but you already knew that!)

February 4 (Saturday): Sandwich Making Party! 12 – 2pm

Time to make the Superbowl Subs! Meet at the church at noon to make sandwiches. With enough hands, we’ll be done quickly! (oh, and I’ll feed you!--guess what you’ll be eating?)

February 8: “Art For One, Art For All”

Gail Blum has a really cool art project where we can use our own creativity while making something bigger for the group. Join us!

February 12 (Sunday) “Giving Back: Damiano”

PCYG has a tradition of preparing and serving the meal at Damiano Center in February (206 W. 4th St.). It’s a great time, and it feels good! Please contact Paul and sign up for one time slot: 1:30 – 4:00 (food prep) or 4:00 – 6:30 (serve meal). Parents and Adult Chaperones needed!

February 15: “Art For All…Take Two!”

We’ll wrap up Gail’s cool art project and see what the finished product looks like!

February 22: “Ash Wednesday/Entering Lent”

We’ll share in Peace’s Ash Wednesday worship at 7pm, followed by conversation (what are those ashes all about?) and social time in the Youth Room.

Saturday Night, February 25, 6:30 - ? : “Senior High Hang-Out” (with a special invitation to “post-confirmands”)

Ok, that’s kind of a silly name, but here’s the deal: Paul misses you…so he’s bribing you with pizza so that you hang out with him, plan future adventures, give him advice on how to teach a confirmation class to adults, etc. Let him know if you can make it, so he knows how much pizza to get!

February 29: “Prayer”

“Boring day”, you say. “Know all about it”, you say. Just you wait. Be ready to move and be moved.   

March 1: “Tubing! (TUBBING?)”

All I know is that we’re going Tubing. Where and when depends upon the snow. Stay tuned. 

Confirmation - September through May
For all 9th and 10th Graders:

Classes meet on Wednesdays from 7:00 – 8:30 pm,
September through May.

First Year Confirmation – 9th Graders
The class usually meets on the second and fourth Wednesdays of every month from 7:00 - 8:30 pm. We begin with a youth worship service at 7:00 in the youth room and then move to a different room for class.

Second Year Confirmation – 10th Graders
We meet on the first and third Wednesdays from 7:00 - 8:30 pm. We always worship with the youth group from 7:00 - 7:30 and then move to our classroom. Youth group worship with Paul Van Antwerp is required on nights of confirmation class.

Part of the class expectation is regular participation in worship and/or youth group. We ask that you be in worship or youth group (beyond confirmation class) at least 2 times a month. Also you need service hours of 4 per month.
