Christmas Eve – December 24
Christmas Eve 4:00pm Service
We will start with a hymn sing half an hour before the 4pm worship begins. This service includes a children’s time by our Peace Puppeteers entitled “The Friendly Birds”, lots of music, and a drama by our youth. We will end in candle light and “Silent Night” played by Barb, Sergei and Diana Hanka.
Christmas Eve Dinner ~ All are Welcome!
5 pm in the Fireside Room
Gather with your Peace Church family at this special time of year. We will enjoy a supper of soup, salad, Christmas cookies and punch following the 4 pm service in the Fireside Room. Let Pastor Kathy or Cindy McLean know if you can help by bringing bread, salad, soup or cookies. Although you can come at the last moment, if you know you are coming please sign up in the entry way or call the office. This will help us get an approximate count. Enjoy candlelight, food and friends!
Christmas Eve 10:00pm Service
We will have anthems by our senior choir, brass accompaniment, and a homily by Pastor Kathy. It will also end in candlelight and “Silent Night” played by Cathy Ameel on harp. This service will be audiostreamed from our website.

Prayers Around the Cradle
Wednesdays in December 7 pm in the Fireside Room
This meditative worship includes quiet singing, silence, prayer and the lighting of candles. Take time each week for reflection and prayer as we journey toward Christmas. This service will be held each Wednesday until Christmas. Gudrun Witrak, and Jane Rupel will help to lead this time of prayer. The liturgy lasts about 20 minutes, based on each participant’s need for silence and prayer.
Children’s Christmas Pageant ~ “The Special Star”
Sunday December 16 at the 10:30 service
One little star is so upset that she isn’t lit at night by the Starlighters like all the other stars. She complains to the Starlighters and when that doesn’t work, complains to God. God is understanding and slowly tells the Little Star the plan for the first Christmas night in Bethlehem.
Come and enjoy the talent of our Peace Church kids!
Winter Solstice Celebration
Saturday December 21 at 7:00 in the Fireside Room
On this shortest day of the year, come celebrate Solstice, the returning of the light, with five SHORT movies that will encourage us all to see life in a new light. The combined length of all the movies will be about 45 minutes, and they will be suitable for all ages. We will light candles and the yule log outside in the cold and then cuddle up with cider, cookies and chocolate in the Fireside Room.
Choir Cantata ~ “Holy Night, An Advent Cantata on the Full Christian Year”
Sunday December 22 at the 10:30 Service
Our choir will perform this commissioned cantata, written by Peace Church member Paul Winchester. This adventuresome work includes twelve movements for choir, soloists (sung by Ella Fox and Mark Hakes), and instrumental ensemble (including folk harp, violin, cello, flute, saxophone, horn, piano, and organ, performed by Peace members.)
Sunday December 22 After lunch at church
Join us for a light lunch of soup, then caroling to some of our members living in local nursing homes or assisted living residences. It is a great way to get out and sing with our members!
