Sunday, November 16 – Fred Friedman recently retired head of the public defenders office will come speak/share/converse and generally acquaint our faith community with the important trends in our criminal justice system. Fred is Minnesota’s longest serving chief defender in history. He is honored not only for longevity, but for his excellence in mentoring and in service. Because we know he is a local prophet whose convictions about the need for equal justice access for all are known, we have asked him to speak.
Sunday, November 23 – Members of the recently formed health care table will come and discuss with us disparities they are seeing in our health care systems. The tables have grown out of the work of the UnFair Campaign.

Advent Workshop for all ages!
Make cards & ornaments, and help Marian Jensen make a large wreath for our church.
Come to the Advent Workshop on November 30. We will make wreaths and give you all the scripture prompts you need to count down the days until birth of baby Jesus! During the Advent waiting time, be on the alert. Watch for the Messengers of Hope whose whispers will remind you to “Keep Awake,” “Prepare the Way” “Lift up the Lowly” The word Advent means “arrival.” During this month-long season we can anticipate in all the ways we know of Christ’s was, is, and will be arriving in the world – in the past as baby Jesus; coming in the present at the Communion table in bread and drink; in the future as God’s hopes and desires for good creation are being fulfilled. When we keep Advent we do it all – praise God, live in the way of Jesus, and build the beloved community.
